Should I Quit, or Stay and Risk Being Fired?

Okay, so I am 18 just graduated high school and I am going to college in the fall. I have work at my current job for a little less than a year, and they are really strict about calling in/being late. So here's the situation.. if I am late one more time, I will be fired. However, I start off with a "clean slate" in september, and some of my infractions go away (every 6 months your infractions expire). I kind of want to stay so that I will be able to be on call and on payroll with them and continue to work summers when I come home from college in the spring. But I don't know if I can go 3 months without getting an infraction, so maybe I should just quit now to avoid the possibility of being fired. I am really torn about this. What should I do? Should I quit now to avoid the possibility of being fired, or do my best over the next couple months to avoid getting an infraction so I can start over with a clean slate?
